The epic 2024 Brisca V8 Hotstox season finally draws to a close on Saturday 16th November at the highly anticipated Gala Night event! In the season that the Hotstox have celebrated 40 years of racing, we have seen some of the hardest hitting action in the sport’s history.

We’ve witnessed the unbelievable World Championship final at Bristol won by Grant Leather, the epic battle for the European Championship on the shale of Northampton won by Paul Prest and superb National Points winning season from Jon Brown. This Saturday is the last opportunity of 2024 to hear the rumble of the Rover powered V8 Hotstox and there are plenty of surprises in store.

The Hotstox last appeared at Skegness in mid-October for an action packed day of stock car racing. Camey Dorrell (#262) once again showed her ability on tarmac by taking an impressive two heat wins and second place in the meeting final. The final was won by Thomas Brighton who was continuing his rampage of impressive results following the loss of his World Championship title.

The Grand National saw an impressive win for Will Cheetham (#182) in a race that saw one of the bigger incidents of the weekend. Camey Dorrell found herself stranded on the exit of turn four, as the yellow flags came out white grader Jamie Lyford (#286) slowed down but was collected by Jedd Stirk (#165) who was behind him. Lyford found himself hitting the home straight wall with some force and a puncture sadly ended his meeting.

As has become something of a tradition, Gala night sees many of the formula’s regular drivers stepping aside and allowing others to experience being in the driving seat of a Hotstox. 2024 Stoxkart Gold Top champion Kye Palij will be piloting the car of former National Points champion Evan Bullock. UK modified driver Connor Panton will be behind the wheel of a Thomas Brighton car while Stoxkart driver Charlie Portman will be driving the Amy Jagger car. Pete Savage will be racing in the Guy Jolly car after a troublesome practice session at Swaffham last month. World Champion Grant Leather will be handing his car over to Carl Boswell for the evening.

Alongside the unknown factors that are the inexperienced Hotstox drivers, regular names on the booking list such as Thomas Brighton, Stephen Young, Frankie Burgess, Andy Maynard and more will contribute to what should be a highly entertaining evening of racing! Anything could happen on track at Gala night. If the 2024 Hotstox season so far is anything to go by, you won’t want to take your eyes off the action!
